Aion, formerly a pay to play title, is a free to play MMORPG game developed and published by NCSoft, the same team behind the upcoming Guild Wars 2. Aion features one of the most explosive combat systems available in an online game. Players can choose from 8 distinct classes and battle their way through over 30 combat intensive dungeons. Each dungeon provides players with a totally unique challenge including a variety of fearsome monsters and a large number of deadly boss battles.

One of the most discusses aspects of Aion is the ability to fly. As you increase in level your character earns their wings, continue leveling and you unlock the ability to fly for longer periods. Flying adds a whole new level of depth to the MMORPG world, allowing players to traverse across difficult terrain, complete quests much quicker and even battle enemies in the skies of Atreia.

Although Aion features over 4,000 quests, the main attraction is the unique PvP. The Abyss is a unique area within the game where the majority of the PvP takes place, players can freely attack other players, but there’s a twist. There’s a powerful NPC race, known as the Balaur, that inhabit the Abyss and they can attack at any given time. This creates a highly volatile PvP environment where huge, large-scale battles can turn into a war-zone as the Balaur descend upon the fight and attack players from both sides.

Aion is also home to 6 unique crafting professions, pets that can store goods or aid you in combat, and thousands of items that can be tailored to fit the players needs via the item customization system.
