Big Beta Weekends Incoming
This year is setting up to be a massive year for the MMORPG industry, we’ve already had top releases such as Star Wars: The Old Republic and there’s even more highly anticipated titles on the way, including Guild Wars 2 and TERA Online. Although both of these blockbuster titles are being worked on by separate developers, both have decided to host their first open beta weekends this month.
Starting April 20th, En Masse Entertainment will be opening the TERA Online servers for all interested players to tryout the game. It lasts for the duration of the weekend, ending on April 23rd. This is an open beta in the traditional sense, all players are able to create an account and play.
Guild Wars 2 is waiting until a little later in the month. The information was announced on the Guild Wars 2 Twitter earlier today, and it states that the open beta will begin April 27th, running through until April 29th. Sadly this is a restricted event as only players that have pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 will be able to participate.
Both of these games have been surrounded by hype since the announcement of development, however both are offering totally different styles of MMORPG game. One of the biggest factors separating these two titles is the subscription model, with GW2 opting to follow the path laid out by its predecessor, GW1, while TERA Online is adopting the more traditional pay to play approach. Which of these titles are you more excited about? Will you be playing both? Let us know, leave a comment below.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
