Bigpoint Unleash Innovative MOBA Title: Universal Monsters Online
League of Legends stand aside, there’s a new MOBA in town and this one is filled with monsters. Universal Monsters Online is the latest free online game from highly popular MMO publishers, Bigpoint. The MOBA genre exploded onto the scene after the release of the highly popular Warcraft 2 mod, Defense of the Ancients. Since then the genre has continued to attract more and more gamers and now occupies one of the most competitive scenes in the gaming industry. Although League of Legends is quite obviously the top dog, there’s plenty of titles that have attempted to dethrone the MOBA giant such as Realm of the Titans and the upcoming, Smite. With a genre growing as quick as the MOBA genre, it was inevitable for free to play giants Bigpoint to get on board, and they’re doing it in a big way.
Universal Monsters Online is the end result of a partnership between Bigpoint and Universal Pictures. Universal Pictures has been responsible for unleashing dozens of terrifying monsters since the founding of the movie studio over 80 years ago. Players will be able to use these iconic monsters in intense PvP duels using familiar MOBA mechanics. Some of the highly attractive monsters roster may include The Phantom of The Opera, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, The Mummy, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and my personal favorite, Van Helsing. Despite the huge array of MOBA titles that have released in recent months, Universal Monsters Online has something that very few can offer, detailed lore and background stories for the characters. Sure, League of Legends created a unique game world with it’s own set of political struggles and wars, but Universal Monsters Online is backed by over 80 years of character progression.
The Universal Monsters Online beta is expected to begin soon, so interested players should head on over to the website if they want to get involved.
