Blacklight: Retribution Review
One of the most unique aspects to Blacklight: Retribution is the massively in-depth gun customization system. The majority of FPS games in today’s industry include some level of customization in regards to weapons, but very few go to the depth that’s available in Blacklight: Retribution. There are 6 different areas of each weapon that can be customized: Scope, Receiver, Stocks, Magazine, Barrel and Muzzle. Each area has a number of different customizations that can be added, creating for hundreds of unique customization possibilities, one of the most advanced weapon customization systems available in an online game.
Another great aspect to Blacklight: Retribution is the Hyper Reality Vision (HRV) feature. The HRV allows players to use a unique ability that gives them the power to spot enemies, ammo dumps and various other objects through walls. This unique skill adds a new level of tactical game play to the FPS genre, offering players a limited period of time to scan for enemies before advancing into new areas.
One of the more innovative aspects of Blacklight: Retribution is the Hardsuit. A Harsuit is a colossal mechanical robot that players can summon into battle using a feature similar to that of the kill streaks feature seen in the Call of Duty games. Players control a mech equipped with 15,000 HP, a minigun, and a long range railgun. A mech piloted by a skill player can turn the tide of any battle, using a unique mix of intense firepower, maneuverable boosters and team work.
