CastleVille
Good: CastleVille shares many of the popular features seen in other Facebook games. Easy to pick up and master, plenty of social benefits and a very casual approach to play progression.
Bad: Sadly it also shares a lot of the negatives associated with Facebook games such as a lack of depth, poor animations and enough simple mouse clicking to bore even the most passionate Zynga fans.
CastleVille is a free to play online Facebook game available to play now in its open beta form. It has been bought to us by no other than Zynga – who have been referred to as the kings of Facebook games! These are the same guys who bought us other delightfully addictive games such as ChefVille, FarmVille and Treasure Isle.
CastleVille Review
CatleVille is easy to get into. You basically start out in a dirty overgrown clearing in a forest and are saving the day by vanquishing forest beasties that were about to attack two innocent bystanders. This leads to you becoming the proud owner of the overgrown forest clearing and thus, your kingdom is born!
You must purchase and build houses for your royal subjects to live in, build workshops to create your necessities with, grow crops to earn money, rear animals for food and supplies and most importantly, expand your land into the gloom to push back the evil darkness that is surrounding your kingdom! CastleVille has many fantastic aspects, including personalizing your character and dressing him/her in the latest medieval wear, learning to make various potions to speed your game up or to create more energy and a sound track that doesn’t make you feel like you are going crazy after the first 5 minutes!
In game money is earned easily by doing quests, growing crops and collecting rent. You can also use reputation points for currency on certain items, gained by helping out the friends you add in game (neighbors) and also crowns, which is premium currency, which can be earned in game or purchased with real cash. CastleVille is an incredibly interactive game and you can often find yourself relying on others to send you necessary items to complete quests, but the neighbors options also allows you to gain exploring crystals faster and extra energy when you run low!
