Chinese Gamer Admits Selling Meth To Fund MMO Habit
A Chinese man from Zhejiang province was recently arrested by police under the suspicion of dealing drugs. An investigation later proved that the 19yr old gamer was selling the illegal narcotic, Meth, to fund his addition to MMO gaming. This is the latest in a long line of shocking stories from the East. We’ve heard people selling family heirlooms, losing their families and even their lives over MMO addiction but this is one of the worst so far.
Methamphetamine is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous substances available on the black market and has been solely responsible for many deaths, but it can have a negative impact on practically every aspect of an individuals existence. The official report didn’t mention any games that he played but the 19yr old did admit to having an MMO addiction which led him to his life of crime.
His goal was to turn his drug money into virtual currency so that he would be able to buy better gear and items for his character. What makes matters worse is how he got involved. An individual approached him at a local internet cafe offering him $24 USD for every gram he sold. Obviously the price varies greatly depending on location and quality but a gram can sell for anything up to $250. Making matters even worse is the Chinese stance on drug dealers which could potentially lead to the 19yr old being executed. All that for $24 a time for some virtual armor?
