City Of Steam Closed Beta Announced For November
Mechanist Games, the indie development team behind the critically acclaimed City of Steam, have just announced that the game will begin closed beta in November. City of Steam is a unique MMORPG that sees players playing as fleeing refugees that flock to the once thriving metropolis of Nexus. The combination of the incredible browser-based graphics and steam punk theme has captured the hearts of thousands of gamers.
The alpha testing period ran over a four week period, ending on August 20th, and was considered a massive success by fans and players alike. Over 17,500 players logged in to try the new steam punk title, and thousands of those participated in following weekends. Mechanist Games included four classes and multiple races for the alpha weekends, but even more are planned for the upcoming closed beta test.
Since the end of the alpha testing phase Mechanist Games have been hard at work fixing a number of issues reported by the player base. The character animations have been smoothed out, improving the already very impressive graphical setup.
The closed beta event will become available sometime in November and will include more quests, an increase in the level cap and even more customization options. For more information, or to pledge your support, visit the City of Steam website.
