Dark Orbit is a browser based Sci-Fi MMORPG published by Bigpoint. Dark Orbit is a popular online space game that offers a large game world with PvP oriented gameplay. In this game, the players can be attacked almost anywhere in the galaxy and death carries a stiff penalty.

Dark Orbit is a fast paced space shooter game set in an outer galaxy. In this game three powerful mining corporations wage perpetual war against each other to be show their dominance in the galaxy. New players can choose to be with any of these corporations. The three Mining Corporations are:

Mars Mining Operation – Profit seeking opportunists.

Earth Industries Corporation – Believe in commitment to the company and shared goals.

Venus Resources Unlimited – Their mission statement includes protecting the galaxy and caring for their employees.

Similar to other games published by Bigpoint, Dark Orbit is also a heavily PvP (player v/s player) oriented game. The game lacks sophisticated graphics but for a browser MMO that’s running on Flash, it can be compromised. The controls of the game are easy and self explanatory.

Even though Dark Orbit uses limited technology, it has still managed to set a good example of a space MMO. The thrilling quests in Dark Orbit are another reason for playing this game. As your level increases in the game the difficulty of the quests increases as well.

The background music of Dark Orbit doesn’t fit all that well with the game, there is a lack of variation in the music. Overall, Dark Orbit is a fun to play game but eventually it gets boring as you progress. If you are after a MMO space shooter that is fast-paced with no downloads require, you should try Dark Orbit.
