Dragon’s Prophet
Dragon’s Prophet is an upcoming MMORPG from Sony Online Entertainment. The game thrusts players into the fantastical world of Auratia filled with mythical monsters and deadly creatures. Players can expect to experience a number of unique MMO mechanics as the game continues to release more exciting footage in the build up to the expected 2013 release date.
Dragon’s Prophet Review
Players will get to choose from four distinct classes before they explore Auratia. Although each class conforms to regular MMO archetypes, the combat and abilities differ from the regular MMO thanks to the unique combat system. Unlike current MMORPG titles that revolve around slow-paced, hot-key combat, Dragon’s Prophet utilizes a new lock-on feature that will give players extra maneuverability and control in battle. The auto-target feature is complimented by the combo-based fighting system that gives players total control over each blow they land on their opponent.
One of the most intriguing features in Dragon’s Prophet is the ability to capture and train a huge variety of Dragons. There will be more than 300 unique Dragons available at launch, with each having their own specific set of skills and abilities. Similar to the classes, each Dragon can use abilities from certain MMO archetypes, giving players additional combat options if they train certain Dragon types. These two systems combine in perfect harmony, offering players a huge variation of possible combat builds and strategies.
Complimenting an already impressive list of features include appearances from regular MMO features such as in-depth player housing, and a highly appealing guild system. Guilds will be able to recruit players to construct their own thriving kingdom, having complete control over constructing various buildings and fortifications.
Be sure to check back soon as we’ll publish information regarding more features and the release dates of both the closed and open beta periods, as soon as we hear more.
