Easter Egg for Diablo III level “Development Hell” …haven’t we all been playing there already?
Reports are coming in of a super secret level in Diablo III! Development Hell .
“In Act I during the quest A Shattered Crown, there are three areas named Defiled Crypt you can go into, one of which has the quest goal. When going into one of these there is a random chance it will instead take you to Development Hell. Risen Dead enemies are named after the Diablo III development team, named after their job title. “The game director, Jay Wilson, is an elite monster, and killing him grants the hidden Feat of Strength achievement Smash! Jay, Smash! along with a Banner Sigil.” IGN
According to IGN, it is found as a random replacement for one of the Defiled Crypts in the Cemetery of the Forsaken in Act 1, regardless of difficulty.
Fans are reporting The Development Hell Level very random and hard to find. Its been found in Inferno, Nightmare, and as random crypt spawn when exploring the cemetery. Its reported as a blast to get those opening week frustrations out.
“You get to kill Jay and get the Feat of Strength (as mentioned) and each mob inside has a different name for different people who helped make the game (also includes their title i.e. 3D Artist).I’d highly recommend checking it out if you ever get lucky enough for it to spawn.” BcnGehrke
Another forum poster “found him in one of the 3 random crypts on nightmare, before doing Leoric. He is just a purple elite.”
Kappei states,
“Looks like it’s just a very rare occurence in one of the crypts. As you can see from the video you’ve linked, you don’t need to kill Leoric(they’re still searching for the chancellor’s altar). Also it looks like a single player game, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen in a party. It has been found in Hell difficulty, and also in Nightmare(as told in Emporio’s answer).”

Just to reiterate you can find this area right after defeating the the Skeleton King on Nightmare (may be available at higher difficulties too idk). Simply head north of where you exit the dungeon. The achievement is a feet of strength.
