Electronic Arts To Sponsor Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club – Really? Why?
EA Sports, the developers behind hugely popular sports titles such as the FIFA, Madden and NCAA franchises, has just made a surprising announcement about a three-year contract partnership with English football team, Tottenham Hotspurs. Quite a strange move really, Tottenham Hotspurs aren’t a bad squad by any means but a company with the financial resources such as EA, you would expect to be pushing behind far bigger teams such as Manchester City or Real Madrid. The three-year partnership will see EA Sports as the official video-game partner of Tottenham Hotspurs.
“We are extremely excited to join a world class football club like Tottenham Hotspur as an Official Club Partner,” said Matt Bilbey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Football, EA SPORTS. “This is an opportunity for us to create a deeper connection with their passionate, global fan base, and use our game as a platform to engage Spurs supporters all season long.”
So, will this make you play as Tottenham Hotspurs more in FIFA 13? I think not.
