Good: Eve Online is one of the very few sandbox games that actually feels polished. Players aren't just thrown into a world and left to fend for themselves, there's an array of information available to help new players progress and the limitless possibilities provided by the sandbox engine make Eve Online one of the best MMORPG titles every released.
Bad: The only real negative aspect to Eve Online is that it's subscription based. However, unlike other pay to play MMO games you can buy subscription time from other players using the in-game currency Isk. It's totally legal in-game and used by thousands of players.
Eve Online is at the forefront of the sandbox genre, offering players almost limitless freedom and possibilities. The game boasts a massive variety of innovative features and is one of the most played MMO games online. One of the more unique aspects of Eve Online is the leveling system. Stepping away from the typical monster and quest grind-fests, the Eve Online leveling system allows players to level up while offline and in-game. Skills are time-based, meaning it takes a certain amount of time for a character to learn a specific skill or research new technology. These timers go down whether you’re in game mining or out playing soccer. This unique approach to character progression gives casual players the opportunity to level alongside the hardcore players, removing the typical math of time in game = level.
Easily the most appealing aspect of Eve Online is the player-driven community. A large portion of MMO games host events and competitions today, but Eve Online takes that to new heights as the events are player created. Whether it’s a siege on a certain area of space or a huge war between 2 alliances. The diplomatic scene on Eve Online is thriving, with alliances teaming up for resource and protection purposes, while others are at war over territory.
