Final Fantasy XIV Going Strong With 1 Million Active Players
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer/Director, Naoki Yoshida, took to the floor at the Tokyo Game Show with exciting news for Final Fantasy and FFXIV fans. He announced that the game is currently supporting over 1 million active players, despite a slightly dodgy launch and a halt in digital sales. He also confirmed that concurrent players is currently sitting at around the 344,000. It’s quite rare to have 33% of your entire playerbase exploring the game at the same time but a feat I’m sure Square Enix are proud of.
During the Tokyo Game Show Naoki also hinted at some of the exciting content planned for upcoming updates. Currently slated for the upcoming version 2.1 update players can look forward to Extreme Titan, Garuda and Efreet battles, a brand new dungeon, two new hard more dungeons and player housing supporting all 3 city states. A new PvP arena will also be introduced alongside daily quests and new boss battles.
The developers also released some surprising info-graphics such as the most popular race, class and highest average levels. For more information check out DualShockers.
