Final say on The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3
The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3 is Keighley’s iPad app that reveals the news showing in 2010 Montreal based BioWare had been developing a competitive first-person shooter called Mass Effect Team Assault that morphed into the current Mass Effect 3 with third-person multiplayer mode.
They had wanted a downloadable game in the genre of Unreal Tournament with a standalone multiplayer experience. For four months it sat in prototype mode, which images are in the video here. BioWare gave it the okay as it could add a dimension into its war in Mass Effect’s Multiverse. As it was discovered, Mass Effect’s engine wouldn’t allow for a co-op outside of the main game, only skirmishes, so it was shelved.
Its iPad only right now, but PC is coming out this coming week from what BioWare HQ says. Developers are interviewed, deleted scenes are there, as well as panoramic shots inside the main BioWare HQ. Stories like these abound in the documentary of The Final Hours of Mass Effect. Any fan of Mass effect will like to watch this as it’s pretty interesting to see how the story played out and became Mass Effect 3.
