Leveling up works in a similar way to other online games, you kills monsters and complete quests to earn experience points, which in turn increase your level and base stats. For those of you more interested in earning a reputation as a fearsome captain, you can choose your own ship from five possible ship designs, each of which can be customized with items and equipment. Your ship levels up separately to your character class, adding two distinct methods of leveling, both of which offer different bonuses. Leveling your ship skills will allow you to explore further, discover new islands and defeat sea-dwelling bosses. While leveling your character gives you more abilities while on foot.

Another great aspect to Florensia is the intense PvP. Pledge your allegiance to either the Pirate or Royal Army faction and participate in large-scale ship vs ship battles in a variety of settings. You can fight for control of vital ports, unlocking NPC characters and better equipment, or you can enter one of the many open battle maps where you can attack enemies on sight.
