Good: By far the most appealing aspect to Football Superstars is the skill-based game play. Although stats play a heavy part, a low level character with more knowledge of game mechanics and twitch skills can easily compete with a higher level player. Couple this with the active community event scene and you've got the best online soccer game available.
Bad: Football Superstars relies heavily on micro-transactions. Players that purchase cash-only items do receive quite a severe stat advantage but there is a possibility to earn the item mall currency via in-game competitions and tournaments.

There are two main aspects to Football Superstars, the matches and the Lifestyle world. The Lifestyle side of Football Superstars shares a lot of similarities with modern MMORPG games. Players explore a small city that houses various shops, NPC’s and other interesting features. There are several stalls and shops available that sell various types of equipment for your character. Each item that can be equipped increases different stats, so players need to pay close attention to what items they want to equip base on what kind of character build they’re going for. Whether you want to be a clinical striker or a sturdy defender, you’ll need the items and skills to back you up.
Although the Lifestyle world is filled with exciting features, the real core of Football Superstars are the matches themselves. There are two main match modes available, FSC and PMC games. FSC games are groups of random players that join any one of the four available clubs, these matches go on throughout the day and reward players with cash and experience points. PMC matches are organized teams that work in a similar way to guilds, participating in cups and competitions, creating their own kit, and recruiting players. Every action on the pitch, whether you’re running, attempting to tackle a player or taking a shot, is entirely based upon player skill. Stats effect the outcome of your action but if you don’t aim in the right location or press the activation button at the correct time, the stats won’t help you.
