Full PS3 Refund Offered For Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Players
Those who purchased Final Fantasy XIV Online : A Realm Reborn through the Playstation Network between August 27-28 will be finding themselves with a full refund. The online game was built to handle roughly 5,000 people per “city“, which led to a number of servers crashing, players being booted from their games without warning, and in their attempts to log back on, created the cycle all over again. Supply simply couldn’t keep up with demand. With any launch to an online game, the thousands of players are all logging in for the first time, all starting up at the same point in the game.
This created an overtaxing of the system leading to a shut down. Square Enix has said that once people start advancing into the storyline, separating themselves from the beginning point, spreading out the numbers, the pressure on a single location will dwindle and eventually work itself out.
