Grepolis is basically a 2D browser based strategy where the MMO has been set in Ancient Greece. Grepolis allows the players to build their own classical city, complete with a Senate Building and to raise armies of land, naval, and even mythological troops! The game is a free-to-play 2D strategy MMO game.
In this game the player’s can conquer the Olympia in the footsteps of Greek heroes like Achilles and Ulysses. The game is played by more than 2 million people all over the world. So, then, what are you waiting for!
Grepolis Overview
Grepolisis a browser based strategy game set in Ancient Greece. The players begin with a tiny ‘Polis’ or city and must build it up into a thriving Aegean metropolis. The player controlled cities start near the coast of one of the many islands that populate the world. More inland towns are NPC controlled Farming Villages that can be devastated by the surrounding players.
There are three key resources in Grepolis, Wood, Rock, and Silver which are all generated from different buildings. In this, farms are required to increase the player’s city’s population and warehouses increase the cap of resources players can store.
After getting their thrift set up the players must train land troops, ships, and even fictitious creatures to defend themselves from aggressors in this open PvP environment. In this game the players get a chance to build up a small Polis, raise and maintain a powerful army and navy with an aim to conquer islands far away. Just like the Greek mythology, Grepolis also depends on Zeus’, Hera’s, Athene’s and Poseidon’s grace, as it decides the outcome of every action you take in-game.
You can get a good grip over Grepolisif the you have played other games of the same genre, but new players may struggle with the in-depth approach to city and resource management. The tutorial of the game is rather quick and doesn’t elaborate much of the details. Grepolis is a simple game with basic game play elements.
The simplicity of this game is what makes it special for more than 2 million followers. PvP is an added charm which adds a great amount of immersion. The animations and graphics of Grepolis are normal but they cannot be compared with other competitors.
