Guild Wars 2 How To Play With Friends In Different Starter Cities
Guild Wars 2 has a reputation for avoiding the hand-holding approach so common in today’s MMORPG games, but this is not without its own problems. This Guild Wars 2 How To Play With Friends In Different Starter Cities guide will tell you what you need to do in order to join your friends, should they choose a different race or starting city. It’s a relatively simple process but it’s still something we’ve had a lot of questions about, so here it is.
Step 1: First you will need to access the PvP area in Guild Wars 2. In order to do this you’ll need to open the PvP screen using “H”, and then click the PvP tab marked by the sword icon. Select go to “The Mists” and you’ll be teleported to the next area. Note, don’t click to join PvP straight away or this guide won’t make much sense to you.
Step 2: You’re then transported to a new area. At first glance it may seem like you’re into the PvP already as there’s a lot of fighting going on and NPC’s are everywhere. But don’t worry, you’re safe here and cannot be attacked by other players. There’s a few quests here you can do that introduce you to the PvP in Guild Wars 2 but ignore these for now. Head North across the zone, up the stairs and exit.
Step 3: You’re now in the Hall of Memories. Follow the patch in the screenshot above, heading North West until you reach a portal. Enter the portal to be teleported to the next area.
Step 4: The final step to joining your friends in other starter cities. Head North West across the bridge and then turn to your South West. You’ll notice a large collection of different portals in the nearby area, each of these portals will lead you to a different starter city. Find out which one your friend is in and away you go.

If you change starters can you do their starter quests or is it better just holding off meeting up for a few levels?
You can do all of the quests that they can do, besides the class/character specific story. The game also has a scaling system so even if a friend joins and you’re level 15, you can quest in his starting area and not hurt his experience points
