GunZ
Good: The best aspect of GunZ is easily the acrobatics. Very few other online MMOTPS allow players to run up walls and jump over obstacles to take down their opponents. Adding a whole new level of skill-based play to an already popular skill-based genre.
Bad: New players will struggle to compete in GunZ as the game has been around for a number of years and a large portion of the player base have mastered the in-game mechanics. However, this is a great incentive for those that relish a challenge in the online world.
GunZ is a free to play MMOTPS from Aeria Games, the same developers behind popular shooting titles such as Wolf Team and Blacklight Retribution. GunZ is not your typical online shooter, it was released before the majority of the average MMO shooter titles today, as such it had a level of innovation and depth of mechanics that you won’t find in many online titles at the moment.
GunZ Review
Unlike your typical shooting titles GunZ isn’t a simple run and gun MMO game. Every player has the ability to move at unrealistic speeds, running up walls and somersaulting through the sky like some of your favorite action heroes. Use the environment to your advantage and dazzle your opponents with acrobatic abilities and skills as you fire a variety of weapons or get up close and personal with some devastating melee weaponry.
Although 3D games are not uncommon in today’s MMO world, the term 3D environment is often overused but in GunZ, the environment is truly 3D. Use your acrobatic skills to leap onto walls, columns, statues and other difficult to reach places. You can even wall jump and scale tall objects to find that perfect sniper spot.
GunZ combines both melee and range combat to offer players an unparalleled arsenal of weaponry and abilities. Use your sword to hang from walls or launch an enemy into the air, before switching to your range weapon and dishing out some extra damage. You can use pistols, rifles, machine guns and more, all available in a variety of designs and colors to compliment your characters appearance.
As well as the unique selection of weaponry, GunZ also allows for a large amount of customization with player characters. Players can customize 12 items slots on their character, equipping a variety of clothing and accessory options to look unique on the battlefield.
