343 Industries gave us someloving today with some Halo 4 hotness in a new video offering a eager look at new multiplayer footage and featuring insights from the development team on the forthcoming videogame’s multiplayer features. Weapons, War Games maps/competitive modes and Spartan Ops. Commentary from fans is included for a taste of whats to come, and industry pro’s at E3 2012 discussing first impressions of Halo 4.
Infinity Slayer is Halo 4′s spin on Team Slayer multiplayer mode. Traditional competitive team multiplayer is there- changed up by adding Ordnance Drops to matches. WOOT! The ship in the E3 video is none other than the UNSC Infinity drifting near Requiem,escoredt by UNSC Frigate. Gets a EMT kiss from somewhere and causing it to crash on a buttload of pissed off hostiles attacking the 17,000 of the Best of the Best on it…pooled from humanity.
This ship was the forerunner of tech in its day, and its mission was “Infinity was to beat back the Covenant in the event that Earth was lost and humanity needed a last resort, however that is no longer applicable after the Human/Covenant war’s climax. “(Derived from Admiral Parangosky talking to future ONI executive Serin Osman) It has also been the noted location of the Spartan IV training program in Halo 4 multiplayer.
343i has also announced that the “Infinity” will somehow interact with Master Chief in the Halo 4 campaign.
“The match starts off with the UNSC Infinity dropping Ordnance or weapons onto the map. These initial weapon drops will be the same each time depending on the map but more drops will occur throughout for power weapons such as the Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and Forerunner Scattershot. The later drops come at regular intervals with semi-randomized contents depending on the map and playlist.” Reports the Examiner.

Random trivia: In Halo 4, this ship was sent to an unknown location with the SPARTAN-IVs aboard for training, this is the reason for the Red and Blue Spartans fighting each other in the multiplayer.
