Jade Dynasty
Good: The unique architecture and design of the oriental themed world creates a unique, immersive experience that is supported by in-depth character progression and highly appealing PvE features.
Bad: Like the majority of PWE games Jade Dynasty is supported by micro-transactions and although they're not game breaking, there are some really huge benefits to players willing to invest some cash into their character.
Jade Dynasty is a free to play oriental themed, martial arts MMORPG game developed and published by Perfect World Entertainment, the same development team behind other popular MMO titles such as Perfect World and War of the Immortals. Following a raging war between two rival gods, a story theme that shows up quite frequently in PWE games, players are tasked with restoring peace to the world through fist and blade. Jade Dynasty is home to an exciting array of features, all packaged in high-quality graphics and unique oriental themed architecture.
Jade Dynasty Review
Jade Dynasty features a highly in-depth faction system that forces players to align with specific faction for the purposes of PvP and a thorough storyline. There are two races in Jade Dynasty, Athan and Human, each race then has up to 5 factions to choose from. Each faction offers players a different progression route through the game, completing different quests and exploring different locations. The main factions are the games class system, offering typical MMORPG archetypes such as tank, healing, assassin and damage.
Another interesting aspect to Jade Dynasty is the interactive pet system. Once players reach level 35 they can complete a quest to earn their first pet, they must then speak to another NPC and pay some gold to tame the pet to obey the owners commands. Pets level alongside your main character earning stats and learning new abilities as they progress. Another part of the pet system that’s not really been used much before is the aging process. Pets age through time, and once they reach a certain age they can no longer be used. There are some premium items that can be purchased, and also found throughout the game world, to slow the aging process, but it’s still a nice feature.
One of my personal features within Jade Dynasty is the Disciple system. This works in a similar way to mentor features in other MMORPG games. Players over level 105 can recruit an apprentice from players under level 75, the two can then quest together earning rewards that benefit both the master and the apprentice. This is a great system to get new players into the game and as the rewards for the level 105′s are highly sought after, it’s extremely easy for a new player to find some assistance.
Jade Dynasty is a great MMO game for fans of the oriental or martial-arts based combat, and combined with the PvE and PvP features, it makes Jade Dynasty one of the best games available on the PWE portal.
