League Of Legends Jayce Jungle Guide
Jayce the Defender of Tomorrow is the eagerly anticipated 100th Champion for the hugely popular MOBA title, League of Legends. As with every new Champion that gets released, it can take some time before you’re not totally sucking it up. This League Of Legends Jayce Jungle Guide will guide you through the basics of Jayce, give you some tips on Masteries and Runes as well as general Jungle tactics.
Runes & Masteries
Red – Greater Mark of Strength x9
Yellow – Greater Seal of Resilience x9
Blue – Greater Glyph of Shielding x9
Quintessences – Greater Quintessence of Strength
For Masteries I would do the following:

Tactics & Play
One of the best aspects to Jayce is his strength in early game, as such it is vital you take advantage of this. As a Jungle Jayce you’ll want to take the normal Jungle items to begin with 1x Cloth Armor and 5x Health Potions. If you want to attempt a gank early, I suggest leveling To The Skies!/Shock Blast first, after Lighting Field obviously, and then Thundering Blow/Acceleration, This gives you access to your best damage and disruption abilities, although it can slow down Jungle progress as Lightning Field/ Hyper Charge is a great way to keep mana high and dispatch of Wolves/Wraiths quickly.
Ideally, you’ll want to get boots next, to aid with To The Skies and Thundering Blow, the slow from Q combined with the boots usually means you can get in front of any retreating Champions to knock them back with E. Again this can slow your Jungle route down, but if you choose the right time to gank, the money you earn will more than make up for it. Alternatively, if you’re against a strong team or your team isn’t overly smart on the gank attempts, go for Madreds Razor and then boots. Eventually you’ll want Berserker’s Greaves and Wriggles Lantern.
When you’re initiating a gank, I would begin in Mercury Cannon Mode. Switch to Mercury Hammer just before initiating, to gain the extra damage boost and armor. Initiate with Q, run in front and knock back with E. Switch back to Mercury Cannon and launch your W skill for the increased attack speed, followed by Acceleration and Shock Wave. This is usually enough to dispatch other Champions early game and even getting 1-2 kills before level 5 can make Jayce practically unstoppable for the rest of the game.
Head for Infinity Edge after boots and Wriggles, as long as you’ve got 1-2 early game ganks it’s easy street from then on. As soon as the team fights start you’ll want to pick up some more defensive items, depending on your team and the enemy squad, these differ each round.
Survival & Retreating
Keeping to the Jungles whenever possible is a great way to survive with Jayce. If you’re on the wrong end of a beating, use Acceleration to get a bit of a head-start on enemy Champions and then use Thundering Blow to get visibility on some Jungle mobs followed by To The Skies! to hit the Jungle mob and escape. Also, remember to switch between stances for the extra speed boost.
