Lollipop Chainsaw Cosplay rocks the good ship at PAX East 2012
PAX East 2012 gives the boot to Booth babes, CosPlayers and old magicians alike. One plus to the long lines, inflated prices, and swarms of sandaled gamers has always been the allure of the Boothbabes at conventions like Pax East. To get a “hug and mug” momento shot for the camera to save for a screensaver later was always a bonus to help the hurt when the credit cards bills started coming in.
PAX East 2012decided to cull some of the pleasure this past week and ask some of the more revealing exhibitors to change or pack it up. Clad in a long sleeved pink catsuit spokes-model Lollipop Chainsaw Jessica Nigri was asked to change as the plunging neckline of her CosPlay costume was being reported as offensive by the family con goers. Suda51 posted in his Twitter feed the pink horror.
She changed into her Juliet Starling clothing and was warned agin to change or leave, as PAX East 2012 still was miffed at the mad sexiness.
PAX East 2012 didnt discriminate, they also kicked out Comedian Keith Apicary-aka Nathan Barnatt- who was not as pretty but wore considerably less in his panel crashing: yellowed underwear, an ace bandage, and age spots were on display for all to see in the harsh reality of daylight. To share the pain our eyes cant “un-see” here is a Youtube video and then a follow up interview of him surprised at his thank You being means fro Das Boot.
PAX is not shy about its anti-Booth Babe policies, but the merchandise at the conventions consist of this subject matter displayed by the hired Babes. To eradicate the genre of the qualities that make up 75% of the content that draws the crowd seems under cutting to business, if you ask me. Part of attending places like PAX East 2012 or Gencon INDY for me is getting to wear crazy Fan Fashions.
I guess I will start packing a change of clothes just in case!
