Mass Effect 3 garners “false advertising” complaints with BBB
In march Complaints were filed with Federal Trade Commission over Mass Effect 3′s advertising and there has been a mass effect of venting about Bioware through online petitions, a Child’s Play charity drive, and the lone cupcake bake.
BioWare backtracked a bit and now theres the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC coming up. But that no gameplay, just some “’splainin’ to do, Lucy!”…context for the final endings. Yeah, not smoothing much with trying to convince players that their choices, no matter how it was hyped, just do not matter overall. The nonchalant attitude of BioWare that players invested a few years of play to be summed up with a generic catchall triptych of endings just is not cutting it. It shows with BioWare being the most hated company in America- even over Bank of America with over 200,000 consumerist votes!
Recent blogs have comments like “ppl are starting to see that EA has indoctrinated Bioware and Bioware has crossed the moral event horizon.”
The BBB now has reports filed for BioWare allegedly for misrepresenting Mass Effect 3′s promise of a unique customized experience based on your choices in the game story.
The Better Business Bureau, better known as the BBB, asserts “the game did indeed stage a misleading marketing campaign on the premise of a completely controllable outcome,” against Mass Effect 3 and BioWare.
Many believe EA was deliberate in holding back game content so they can charge a fee for it later on. Putting out a broken product, and knowing it, is what countless accusations have consisted of. Not cool if true.
