May DAY “Second Era?” Bethesda to Announce Elder Scrolls MMO
ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda will officially announce Elder Scrolls Online in May 2012.After highly speculated rumors, its confirmed that Bethesda is creating an MMO based on the Elder Scrolls universe, according to a report just published. It’s hardly been a tight lipped secret as job postings have been all over the internet and the company’s site.
“Second Era” of Elder Scrolls? Tom’s Guide website- citing an anonymous industry source- has published an article claiming that an Elder Scrolls MMO is in full production. The MMO takes place hundreds of years before any game in the series in a millennium timeline prior to the events of Skyrim introducing a “Second Era” of Elder Scrolls. Sources confirm the game takes place a full millennium before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Using the Elder Scrolls Wiki timeline as a guide, Elder Scrolls Online will likely take place during the “Second Era.”
Lion, dragon, and a bird of prey (Eagle, Phoenix, Falcon?) playable factions emerge in the new MMO represented by the animals. Previews and Q and A’s shed new light at the June 2012 E3 and at August’s Quakecon 2012 industry conventions.
