New Camelot Unchained Video Features 10,000 NPC’s On-Screen At Once With Custom Engine
Following the recent release of Camelot Unchained on Kickstarter, the development team have released a brand new tech video showcasing the games main appealing aspect, mass player battles.
During the video the developer explains that they were unable to find a currently released engine that would support the large-scale combat that they’re hoping to achieve with their latest project. After some time he came to the conclusion that the easiest aspect was to create their own character and animation rendering system developed completely in-house.
He goes on to explain that several features may take a negative impact due to the pure size of the battles. Lighting and arenas may seem a little lackluster, but for many that’s a fair exchange considering the game could potentially support up to 10,000 players in a single PvP battle.
