New Twitter Based MMORPG – Laziest MMO Ever
There’s always some new big idea waiting in the wings for the MMO industry but have you ever thought “I’d really love an MMORPG that lets me play without doing anything”? Well if you have then this latest release may be for you. Tweeria is a newly released MMORPG, and in all honest I’m not even sure how to categorize it. It doesn’t have a client, which would suggest it’s a browser-based MMO, but then again there’s not really anything to do in the browser really.
I guess it’s a new free to play, browser-based Twitter MMO. That’s right, Twitter. Tweeria offers many of the features you would expect to find in an MMORPG, you just can’t do any of them. Basically you link it to your Twitter account, then depending on your Tweets, the outcome of your adventures is created. Whether your character goes on missions and finds loot, levels up to unlock new abilities or participate in PvP, every outcome is decided via the players Twitter account.
The game has proven to be quite popular as over 14,000 players have registered for the game, which was only originally intended to be a non-commercial, experimental project. The developers have admitted they weren’t prepared for this level of success, which has caused a number of issues regarding copyright content due to custom art work submitted by players.
