Raptr and Microsoft have just announced a partnership deal to offer 2,500 copies of the indie smash hit Minecraft, that is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is one of a huge variety of rewards released on the new Raptr rewards program, a unique system that rewards players based on game activity and accomplishments. Minecraft took the internet by storm and was a global phenomenon almost overnight, attracting players with its unique sandbox game-play and intricate game mechanics and features. Raptr is a social-based gaming website that offers players a unique experience unlike anything else on the internet. It has all of the social features you would expect in today’s media market, such as a friends lists, status update options and a plethora of other unique systems. I personally discovered Raptr a couple of months ago, and not being a fan of the whole social media thing, I wasn’t expecting to like it. Boy was I wrong. Since downloading the optional desktop application I have been tracking every hour of my game play on Steam, PC, Xbox360 and Playstation 3. As I began playing games Raptr automatically allowed me to follow certain games and developers on the website, providing me with the latest news, reviews and guides without me ever having to open Google.
Even if you’re not a Minecraft fan, Raptr have announced that they’ll be giving away over 300,000 rewards this month, ranging from free games to beta and item code giveaways. You can get the full lowdown on the Raptr Rewards page. So will you be signing up for a FREE copy of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition? Leave a comment and let us know
