Ridge Racer Driftopia Gets Destroyed By Steam Community
Namco Bandai Games have just announced that their free-to-play racing MMO, Ridge Racer Driftopia, is now available on the Steam Early Access platform. The recently released feature on Steam gives developers the opportunity to expose their beta products to a massive gaming audience, including hardcore to casual players and everything between. This gives the developers unparalleled tools when it comes to improving their games, receiving feedback and criticism from thousands of players from all walks of life, however that’s not always a good thing.
It’s not actually a truly multiplayer game. Players are able to attempt to beat their friends best lap times in time trial game modes, but they won’t ever actually see or interact with other cars on the track. Then we have the issue if the aggressive item mall. Thousands of players have flooded the Steam boards with complaints suggesting that the game is nothing more than a cheap attempt to cash-in on the Ridge Racer name.
However, the MMO community has been wrong plenty of times before so why not see for yourself? You can download Ridge Racer Driftopia today.
