Yes. Those words are in fact the truth. There is now an actual Gundam MMO (ish) that North American players have access too. The game takes place as a MMO-TPS (Third Person Shooter), meaning you the player have an over-the-shoulder view of both your unit and the surroundings as you wage war.
SDGO features mobile suits from every gundam series that has been produced, including those that never found their way stateside and each has unique stats and abilities. Each suit has 4 ‘attacks’ on the 1,2,3,and 4 keys with the first three being attacks that fit to the lore of the suit and the fourth being a special attack to do significant damage to some poor unlucky fool that wandered into your cross hairs.
SDGO does a couple of unique things that I enjoy such as letting each individually unit level-up depending upon how much it is used. If you take the time to level up a single suit enough, you will hit a point where he game will give you custom points that are used to change the stats of a suit, allowing you to tailor your favorite unit to your particular style of play.
The second thing this game does well is to offer players a variety of ways to play by featuring single player missions, co-op missions, and pretty good pvp for players to do. And the game has pretty good graphics too, even if it is in the ‘chibi’ (SD or ‘Super Deformed’ Gundam) variety of gundams as opposed to full body suits.
Featuring both an in-game currency (called points) and the ability to buy what you want (similar to almost every f2p game on the market today), the game gives players things to work towards while causing some sweet mecha chaos.
