Good: Shot Online is just a great game overall. The huge variety of courses, in-depth character progression and intricate golfing mechanics makes this Games Campus title the best golf simulation game available on the internet.
Bad: Although players are not forced to use the item mall, those that do can get quite a large advantage. There are a number of golf clubs, caddies and items of clothing that offer huge bonuses to stats, making it very difficult to compete as a new player.

One of the best aspects of Shot Online is the realistic approach to the various golf mechanics and features. Every single shot has to be carefully planned to take in an array of variables. There are dozens of factors that influence each swing, such as your daily practice amount, the wind, the lay of the ball and even how sunny it is. All of the character animations and swings are taken from motion capture using a professional Korean PGA Tour golfer, adding a level of realism unseen in MMO golf games.
Borrowing various elements from the MMORPG world, Shot Online includes an in-depth character progression and gear system, allowing players to create a golfer that matches their play-style. Players can choose from 7 predefined characters, ranging from ex army veterans to chirpy school girls, each has their own personality and starting stats. As players progress through the game, earning experience points and leveling up, they’re awarded with a number of skill points that they can distribute among 4 stats, Power, Impact, Skill and Stamina. Each skill has a different effect on each golfer, creating a large variety of possible character builds and end-game characters.
