Terra Militaris
Good: One of the most interesting aspects of Terra Militaris is the multi-national choice given to players. The majority of other MMORTS games don't offer the variety of units and tactics provided by 4 different nations, creating an interesting mix of strategy and brute force.
Bad: The graphics are probably one of the games biggest let downs. Although players don't often expect much from browser-based MMORTS games, I still felt a little disappointed at the lack of detail in the units and buildings.
Terra Militaris is a historical themed MMORTS game that pits players against other warlords and kings from across the globe. Engage in epic, strategy fueled PvP combat and spread the reputation of your army to distant lands. Follow diplomatic and trade routes as you grow your empire, harvesting a variety of resources and rare materials, fueling your army and military campaigns.
Terra Militaris Review
Players get to choose from four different civilizations when they create their character. They can play as Egypt, China, Persia and Rome. Each nation has a variety of different military units at their disposal and each can construct different buildings and structures. This creates a really varied style of PvP, stepping away from the stalemates seen in typical MMORTS games as players from both sides use the same units and tactics. Units, buildings and other unique structures can also be improved from advancing through the ages. Similar to that of the system seen in the popular Civilization games, players and progress from the Primitive Era up to the Imperial Era, which each Era in between offering different technological advances.
Another great feature in Terra Militaris is the popular hero system. Players can recruit a variety of heroes, stronger individual units that lead armies into battle. Recruiting them from a tavern, players have to have a keen eye to spot the ones that will fit well with their tactics and unit setups. Train them up using 9 different combat scenarios, battling against other players and dozens of monsters. Discover powerful items and rare artifacts to improve the strength of your hero and march them into battle.
Terra Militaris doesn’t break the bank in regards to graphics but it still offers an exciting selection of strategy-based mechanics and features.
