The Elder Scrolls Online Financial Model Confirmed
In a recent interview one of the developers behind the highly anticipated MMO, The Elder Scrolls Online, revealed the details about the long awaited subscription model. Critics and players have long been in debate on deciding the fate of The Elder Scrolls Online. Both sides offered valid arguments for the potential of free-to-play and the benefits of pay-to-play, but it’s the P2P supporters that are cheering today.
It’s official. The Elder Scrolls Online will be adopting the traditional pay-to-play MMORPG model. Following their purchase, at the typical $50-$60 mark, players will then have to subscribe on a monthly basis if they wish to continue exploring the wonders Tamriel has to offer.
It’s a risky move by Zenimax Online but not one they’re taking alone. WildStar and Carbine Studios also recently revealed their pay-to-play based business model, leading many in the business to ponder the current state of the pay-to-play market.
