Good: By far the most appealing aspect to The Secret World is the progression system. Forget about fearing enemies because of your level, forget about being restricted to a certain class, advance the way you choose and equip the items you want to equip. A ground-breaking move for the MMO universe.

The Secret World features 3 unique factions for players to join, The Illuminati, the Dragon and the Templars. Each faction has the power to sway governments with their hidden hands, and they also form the basis for a lot of the PvP features within the game. Unlike other online RPG games, the factions in The Secret World actually have a large impact on a players progression throughout the story, changing large aspects of the game play, in effect, offering three distinct ways to play The Secret World.
Breaking the shackles that have restrained the MMO world for so long, The Secret World removes linear character progression and even removes characters levels altogether. As you explore the modern day setting of The Secret World you can choose from hundreds of different abilities, without being punished by choosing the wrong advancement tree or skill. Create and evolve the alter-ego you choose to play, choose your weapons, your allies, your clothes and your abilities, all without being restrained by typical MMORPG class archetypes or ability trees.
