The Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved For Help is like writing your own graphic novel!
I like that Kirman’s excellent comic series is upheld in this game. That being said, in many ways its alot like writing your own comic rather than an all balls out slaughterfest! It doesnt have the sense of a pre-determined story at all. Your choices make the story. Your story opens 3 months past the previous story in The Walking Dead, and the scene is everyone is starved for help…literally. Mark is a new face on the ol zombie block, and you team up with him to go forth and hunt and gather in human style…the wilderness around the motel.

You get lost and feel lost much of the time and bits and pieces of the dialogue reveal that Mark is pretty much a SSD (self serving D**K) and there had been enough rations and food but somehow he was in charge of it and not its everyman for himself when it comes to food. Every story needs a villian like Malfoy, Gollum, Judas…just someone who shouldve been booted to begin with. The rations are low. New mouths to feed come in to your group- you have to literally choose who to feed based on worth and emotion. And you ahve to decide to let some starve a litte longer than others. Most gamers I know think it would be easy to choose from being desensitized to emotion through endless zombie sprees, but actually it draws forth some hard questions. Like with a little kid named Duck. Or strangers showing up to trade food for gas (not a Sheep for Wood moment! Most definately). There are tense moments of decision with your choices having peoples lives on the line.
Starved For Help relays this sense of desperation facing survivors with well-tuned writing, difficult choices, and an array of conflict. Telltale Games continues to capture the essence of the comics, and the instinct that continues to drive humanity in times of hopelessness: ultimate survival. Yours or mankind is the question?
Some may consider it slow for the same reason others may be more invested in the storytelling and decisions to be made. Its up to you how to close your book.

Needs better graphics. Period.
Really? I quite enjoy the cell-shade style to be honest. But to each their own I guess
