The War Z Already Forcing That Dumbass Question: Are You Friendly?
The War Z only recently became available to those that have purchased either the Legendary or Pioneer packages, but there’s already a truck load of videos and information online. Sitting back and watching a number of PvP related videos and I’ve already come across that age-old question that has cost so many lives in DayZ, are you friendly?
Seriously, skipping the obvious fact that even attempting to communicate with anyone in a dog-eat-dog survival game is suicidal, why in the hell would you ever ask someone that question? Are you friendly? Do you actually expect them to give you an honest answer? Do you think, in any way shape or form, that you asking that question will convince the other guy not to take an easy shot and rob all your stuff?
I see the question asked in DayZ on a daily basis, and now I’ve seen it on more than a few occasions in The War Z footage. I’ll give you all a really good tip here. The chances of anyone ever actually answering “No” before allowing you to get into cover and start firing are 0, absolute 0. That is unless you’re on a RP server or getting trolled.
Don’t get me wrong, differentiating between friend and foe is vital in such a cut-throat genre, but asking such an obvious question is not going to help. Hell, even taking the time out to sit and type it could get you killed.
Maybe some of our readers have a different opinion? Do you think there’s any value to asking such a stupid question? Leave a comment and let us know.
