The War Z
Good: Arguably the best aspect of The War Z is the shooting. As the game is designed using the same engine as War Inc, players can expect crisp and precise aiming with realistic recoil and bullet damage. Creating a realistic atmosphere during every gun fight.
Bad: Currently the most disappointing feature of The War Z is the Global Inventory system. Allowing players to store items and weapons that are out of reach and not effected by death drastically reduces the survival aspect of the game.
Explore a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is struggling to survive. Explore huge maps as you scavenge for vital supplies, weapons and safe zones. The War Z is the first truly 3D MMORPG to offer a zombie/survival theme, throwing players into a world of turmoil where everything walking wants to kill you. If you want a pulse-pounding PvP experience mixed in with the thrill of zombies, look no further than The War Z.
The War Z Review
The War Z is made using an adapted engine to that used in the popular free online FPS game, War Inc. As such players can expect crisp shooting mechanics in both a first and third-person perspective. There’s a large variety of weapons available but they’re not easy to come across. Forcing players to scavenge from villages and towns before they’re able to defend themselves against the hordes of the undead or aggressive players.
Exploring in The War Z is not your typical MMO exploration where you happily search a map destroying everything in your path. Every building you enter has the potential to be filled with zombies, ever corner you turn could be your last. Using a stealth-like approach, players can crawl and slide their way through towns and villages, scanning buildings through the windows or hiding in trash cans to avoid players.
The War Z also features a user-friendly inventory system that sets it apart from similar titles such as DayZ. Players can easily place items in their backpacks, or equip them as weapons if necessary. As well as the huge variety of guns players can use Hammers, Axes and Nailed Bats to fend of their enemies. There’s also a Global Inventory system that allows players to log out of a server and put their items into storage, removing the risk of losing hours of farming due to a single PK’er.
