Tropico 4 Pirate Heaven Now Available
The hugely popular island simulator strategy game, Tropico 4, (created by Kalypso) has recently released new downloadable content (DLC). The new DLC, titled “Pirate Heaven” allows you to become one with your inner pirate and turn your island into a pirate hideaway.
There is a new “Sailor” character trait for the picking when you are creating your customized character, which will increase your ships traffic and boost naval-themed buildings. You can now also pick the “pirate queen” outfit for your character (providing your avatar is female) to really get into the spirit of things. You will be able to abduct ships for ransoms earning you some big payouts. The downside to this is that it will greatly damage your reputation with the foreign powers. Never fear though! You can increase your naval defenses to ensure that your island is safe from foreign invasion. A new smugglers hut is also available which will allow imports even during an embargo – however this will be at higher prices.
This DLC also comes with a new mission. It starts when some pirates move to your island and it would appear that you are the great Pirate King’s long lost ancestor. To prove this, Penultimo insists that you will need to purchase a childhood museum so they can find the evidence of this. By allowing the pirates to stay and allowing piracy on your island, you ruffle the feathers of the infamous Brunhilde Van Hoof, who threatens to invade Tropico if you do not stop. You have to increase your pirate Index quickly to ensure you win this mission. Not a task for the fainthearted!
Pirate Heaven is available to download for your PC on Steam now for just $4.99. Kalypso have also announced that later on this year we can expect to see this expansion available for consoles too!
