WAKFU
Good: WAKFU provides players with an animated approach to high-quality graphics, an immersive turn-based strategy system and a host of innovative features fresh to the MMO world. A must-play title for fans of DOFUS.
Bad: Although WAKFU is perfectly eligible as a free to play title, those that opt to purchase in-game currency or the regular membership, do get some heavy benefits.
Based almost 1000 years after the events on DOFUS, new heroes have emerged to return hope to a world that’s in ruin. Everything, from the buildings to the lives of the people, needs rebuilding. Are you that hero? Do you have what it takes?
WAKFU Review
One of the most exciting aspects of WAKFU is the in-game political system. Players can align themselves with a nation and become a citizen, wearing their nations colors with pride. Players are able to take part in elections and even become official Guards or Soldiers to help defend their nation. Regardless of your background, every player is able to take a direct role in their nation, helping to shape the lives of the people around them. If you have enough political cunning there’s even a chance you can fill the role of Governor and have more powers in your nation, or you could always go the other direction and end up in prison.
WAKFU also introduces a brand new feature to the MMORPG world, a living ecosystem. Players themselves manage the health of the ecosystem as they’re given the choice to either help it flourish or rape it of resources. The impact of individual players can change the environment and surroundings of every city in the game. Creating yet another immersive feature that puts the power into the hands of players.
DOFUS players can rediscover a recreated World of Twelve as WAKFU sees the return iconic characters and places providing an exciting experience for both veteran and casual players. WAKFU is also well known for its unique approach to MMORPG combat, opting to give players the more strategical system of turn-based combat, over that of your typical hot-key smashing MMO. Whether it’s the cute graphics, innovative political system or gorgeous game world, you’re almost guaranteed to find something you love in WAKFU.
