War2Glory Review
One of the most impressive features of War2Glory is the highly in-depth approach to combat strategy. Most strategy games allow players to train a large variety of units and then cast them off into battle, with very little strategy involved outside of the typical rock, paper, scissors approach but War2Glory rises above the common MMORTS restraints and delivers a unique military experience unlike any other. There are dozens of units available in the game, from battle hardened infantry to technologically advanced planes and devastating ship destroyers. Each type of unit requires a specific building in order to train, and each use a different type of resource, but the real action is in the development of military strategies. When attacking an enemy base or defending your own, you can select which units you want to enter battle as well as what strategies they use. You can instruct each individual unit type to remain on the back lines, target a specific enemy unit type, or charge from the front lines and challenge your enemies discipline. There are hundreds of possible combat strategy combinations, a feature that blows other RTS games out of the water.
A vast army is nothing without a fearless leader and War2Glory gives players the opportunity to employ veteran officers to lead their charge into battle. Officers come in many varieties, each with their own set of stats and progression rate. Officers are required if you want to take over enemy cities, expand into surrounding fields or scout possible allies. Officers work in a similar fashion to the heroes found in fantasy-based RTS titles, they level up and improve stats through combat and can also be equipped with a huge variety of items.
War2Glory does suffer with issues that plague the majority of RTS titles, such as a long build times and a certain amount of reliance on the micro-transaction system but don’t that let that you away from an innovative strategy game that is way ahead of the quality seen in today’s MMORTS titles.
