Wolf Team
Good: By far the most interesting aspect to Wolf Team is the ability to transform. This unique mechanic creates a large number of ways to approach each combat situation, adding a depth of tactics and strategy that you would usually only associate with MMORTS titles. Combine this with the huge variety of weapons and maps, and you've got one of the most exciting shooter experiences available from Aeria Games.
Bad: The two main negative aspects to Wolf Team are the graphics and the item mall. Although the item mall doesn't take a pay to win approach, it does offer some distinct advantages which can be off-putting for some MMO players. The graphics, although not bad, just don't seem to stack up to other popular FPS games due to its age.
Wolf Team is a free to play, MMOFPS game published and developed by Aeria Games, the same development team behind other popular online titles such as Eden Eternal and the recently released Repulse. Various cities and locations around the world began reporting strange mutilations of cows and other livestock, and then before long, human remains were being discovered torn limb from limb. You are part of a top secret government organization that discovered the origins of these attacks and began scientific experiments to counter the threat that laid waiting in the shadows. Instead, they discovered a gene that would transform regular soldiers into brutal killing machines. This gene gave birth to creatures never before seen on Earth, this gene gave the government a weapon to end all wars, this gene created Wolf Team. You are a soldier of Wolf Team, sworn to secrecy to protect the governments secrets and sent out to rid the world of the evil infestation of werewolves, but you weren’t told everything..
Wolf Team Review
Wolf Team combines elements from regular first-person shooter titles and adds a unique transformation twist. You are able to play as both a human and a werewolf, each with different abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Humans have access to the regular tools and skills you find in other MMOFPS titles such as WarRock. There’s a huge variety of weapons available to humans, from fully automatic weapons to sniper rifles and support weaponry such as grenades. The humans excel at long-range combat, having abilities to slow the werewolves down, creating easier targets but enough with the dull and dreary human species, the werewolves are what really make Wolf Team appealing. You are able to transform into a werewolf at any time during a game, providing you’re playing a game-mode that supports wolf play. Wolves don’t have access to weapons or long-range capabilities like the humans, instead they possess super-human strength with devastating melee potential. Wolves are also able to perform several acrobatic feats such as the ability to climb and run up walls and run at an increased rate. There are also several upgraded wolves available that have access to unique abilities such as commanding the element of ice or being able to turn invisible.
Wolf Team combines the unique transformation mechanic with various FPS game modes, a huge variety of maps and a highly in-depth weapon customization system. It’s been a long time since FPS fans were given something fresh to sink their teeth into but Wolf Team offers everything you would expect from a FPS title, and then some, a must play MMO for FPS fans.
